Hydrocortisone Dog Shampoo: Itch Relief For Your Pet

Anti-itch shampoos for dogs typically contains the active ingredient hydrocortisone, a steroid hormone drug. While the use of hydrocortisone on animals is not approved by the FDA, veterinarians can prescribe its use legally as well as administer it to animals suffering from conditions that require hydrocortisone. Hydrocortisone has anti-itching properties that help your dog stop itching by reducing inflammation. In addition to hydrocortisone, most dog shampoos have aloe vera that soothes the dog's skin. Combined, hydrocortisone and aloe vera in dog shampoo provides soothing relief to your dog.Dog shampoos with hydrocortisone and alove vera are readily available over the counter. However, take care not to purchase an anti-itch dog shampoo that is simply an imitation of a well known brand. Most of the time, these cheap imitations have chemicals that irritate your dog's skin further and can be harmful to your dog's overall health. It is best to go with an anti-itch dog shampoo that's manufactured by a reputable company. It may cost a bit more than the imitation, but you can be assured that your dog will be safe.Aside from hydrocortisone dog shampoos, there are also hydrocortisone dog sprays that can provide itch relief to dogs. Corti-Care Hydrocortisone Spray consists of 0.5% hydrocortisone and aloe vera. If your dog's skin is irritated and your dog is itching, you can use a hydrocortisone spray on the itchy areas. The spray stops your dog from scratching or licking at the itchy areas, which means the affected skin will be able to repair itself faster. Before applying the hydrocortisone spray, give your dog a bath using hydrocortisone dog shampoo. The hydrocortisone found in dog shampoos contain milder dosage of the drug, but dog owners must take care to avoid their dogs from ingesting hydrocortisone. Also, hydrocortisone dog shampoos should never be used in place of regular dog shampoos. Hydrocortisone dog shampoos should only be used when your dog needs relief from itching.

Using Herbs To Relieve Hemorrhoids - Aloe Vera, Bilberry, Butcher's Broom

To relieve hemorrhoids first look for ways to get your bowels moving easier and more frequently so they produce softer stools. I have suggestion ways, in other articles, to do this by changing your diet.Any straining and puffing you do to push hard or even soft stools out during a bowel movement will aggravate your hemorrhoids and can lead to bleeding and pain. When completing a bowel movement, make sure you are using the softest tissue available so that when you clean yourself you don't scrape or aggravate your hemorrhoids. You can also use pre-moisten tissue. Just make sure that the tissue you use is not colored or scented because these chemical additives can aggravate your hemorrhoids. You may have to take a shower a couple times a day to keep your rectum area clean. Here are three natural remedies that you can use to aid in eliminating your hemorrhoids.Aloe VeraAloe Vera gel is an astringent that helps to heal open wounds. It is useful in hemorrhoids by applying the gel directly onto your anus. The best type of gel for this is directly from the aloe plant. If you don't have one, then 100% organic whole leaf aloe gel is second best. You can get this organic aloe at a health food or nutrition store. If you have a fresh plant, wash a leaf thoroughly with distilled water. Peel it on one side, bend it with the peeled side outward, and slip it into your anus. This will provide you with pain relief and reduce your hemorrhoid bleeding. Just trim down the leaf so it slides into your anus easily.Aloe Vera juice, that you drink, is also good for hemorrhoids. It helps to soften your stools and to activate peristaltic action. If you like aloe juice, then drink around 1/2 a cup of Aloe Vera juice three times a day.You can add 1/4 or 1/3 part aloe juice to a cup of apple juice to make the taste easier to handle. To make this aloe-apple juice more effective, add 10 drops of barberry extract.Barberry is an astringent for blood vessel congestion along the colon and rectum. It will improve blood circulation; it stimulates the immune system to resist disease, and will tone body tissues. It also is capable of stopping bleeding hemorrhoids.BilberryBilberry's active ingredients are flavanoids. Bilberry contains chemical called "anthocyanosides." This fruit like herb has been used in Europe for a long time. In clinical studies, it has shown to be effective in treating weak capillaries by strengthening their walls.Buy the 25% standardized formula and take 100 mg three times a day of bilberry. Bilberry will give you hemorrhoid relief.Butcher's BroomButcher's broom, an evergreen bush, has a history of being used for varicose veins and hemorrhoids. As an extract, it contains "ruscogenins", which can narrow blood vessels and decrease their inflammation and swelling. It strengthens and tones veins and capillary walls.Take 100 mg of butcher's broom three times a day. Use the type that has 9-11% ruscogenins. Now you can use either of the three herbal remedies for hemorrhoid relief. If one is not working to good, try the other. Once you have gotten the hemorrhoid relief that you want stop using the herbal remedy.

Top 5 Ways To Cure Hemorrhoids

As almost any pregnant woman can attest, hemorrhoids are no laughing matter. However, embarrassment over the condition and unwillingness to ask questions often leaves people with no idea how to treat the problem. Generally, the most mild forms of hemorrhoids will heal themselves, but people often find it necessary to treat the symptoms while waiting for natural healing. Treating the symptoms is more a matter of personal comfort than medical need.

Hemorrhoids are swollen and painful blood vessels around the rectum, usually further irritated by constipation so the most recommended treatment is more for the constipation that the hemorrhoids themselves. Doctors recommend doses of fiber and lots of water to loosen the bowels and allow people to avoid irritating the hemorrhoids. The second most common form of treatment comes from over the counter medication. Manufactured under several brand names, one common treatment for hemorrhoids are anti-inflammatory pads or wipes. These items allow a person to smear an anti-inflammatory directly on the affected area and give immediate relief to the discomfort caused by the hemorrhoids. Generally, due to the swelling, hemorrhoids are hot and the anti-inflammatory treatments provide a form of cooling relief. The same type of medication is also available in an ointment. The ointment is designed to reduce swelling and remove the heat from the area.An herbal treatment for hemorrhoids with the same basic idea is to treat the area with the gel from inside an aloe vera plant. Pre-packaged aloe will also work. The idea is basically the same as treating a burn. Another herbal treatment for hemorrhoids is rose hip tea. The tea is supposed to remove the swelling internally as well as relaxing the patient so that they can begin to heal.Patients suffering for hemorrhoids are also encouraged to take baths in warm water for 15 minutes twice a day to ease the discomfort and promote healing. Modern medicine s contribution to the treatment of hemorrhoids is the creation of a cold-applicator. Small cryogenic applicators are used to place cold directly on hemorrhoid to ease the pain and swelling. This treatment is reserved for more severe cases as is the option of surgery. In past decades, hemorrhoid surgery was the defined treatment for extreme cases or cases that did not heal on their own. Now, surgery is the treatment of last resort when other efforts to minimize the suffering from hemorrhoids have failed.

As with many other illnesses, doctors recommend prevention as the best option, but acknowledge that this cannot always be the case as there appears to be some genetic predisposition to hemorrhoids. But for those without the genetic calling to hemorrhoids, the best treatment is to eat a diet healthy in fiber and to remain hydrated as a way to avoid constipation. Constipation though not a cause of hemorrhoids is often a contributing factor and straining to use the bathroom can cause the problem to worsen

What You Should Know About Crohns Herbal Treatments

Many Crohn's disease sufferers know that there are many treatments they can try to get rid of some of their pain, but most aren't sure about trying something that might be considered to be an alternative treatment, such as crohns herbal treatments.

There are many different remedies you can try if you are interested in going down the Crohns herbal treatment path, but you do have to be careful. Just because a treatment is considered to be natural does not mean it is safe for you to take. There are complications of which you may not have considered, and even if your doctor does not like the idea of what you are doing, you can't just ditch them. There are many doctors who will not want you to take herbs to help with your Crohn's symptoms. There are many reasons for this. Some simply believe that herbs do not work and that you are wasting your time and money. If your doctor has this attitude and you wish to explore natural options change doctor's, as it's important to have your doctor on your side, as there are real concerns about herbal remedies that you should take seriously. Some herbs can react with prescription medication with very nasty side effects, and some of them might be dangerous to you. Even though they are natural, that does not mean they can't hurt you if they mix with other things. You should do a lot of research on herbs before you try them, and remember to run your ideas of what to take past a qualified professional. Some of the most common herbs used to help with Crohn's symptoms are harmless, but they can have unwanted results when they aren't taken correctly. These are some common herbs that you might already use. Peppermint helps calm the stomach and the rest of the digestive system, teas like green tea and chamomile also help relieve symptoms.

When you want to try a Crohns herbal treatment, there is one very important thing that you have to remember. You should never take anything without talking to your doctor, as it could be dangerous for you to avoid your doctor and take anything you think might help. Though your doctor might not be thrilled with the idea of you taking crohns herbal treatments to help with your condition, they would rather help you work though it than have you self medicate, which could have serious consequences.
